Blog from the boundary vs Spencer Bruerne 2nds – 10th August 2019

GP were under a lot of pressure on what must have been one of the windiest days for cricket ever, after a dreadful lost to Rushden Cricket wankers (according to the cycling youths😂) a win was all I wanted to see from my foxes.

Tiger won the toss and put them in to bat. Brilliant decision by the skipper because the windy conditions were going to be ease later in the day making batting second much easier.

Stoke B started well with a 34 runs partnership for the first wicket but with Pinnington and Adams in attack backed up by Kumar, Holmes and Fernando, we kept them relatively low to 117/7.

Which made it very interesting because of our previous game, where we completely collapse.

But after a captain speech it was never going to happen.

With a 50+ partnership for the first wicket from Rust(43) and Young (29), we were well on the way. Mind you, the bowling wasn’t great at all but never the less we had to get the score that was already on the board.

Well you’ve guessed it, we smashed the score in less than 22 overs giving the boys enough time to shower (NOT) and get in the bar for a well earned beer.

Our final score, 118/4. We didn’t collapse again, thank god, or I would have to give my lads a kick up the ass.
