Today we attended the SNCL AGM at Brackley Town Football Club, the meeting had been rescheduled from November to January. The key points of the meeting were:
- Stoneleigh leave the SNCL to move to a league based in the Cotswolds, we’ll miss the trip to the country house!
- afro Caribbean have paid their fines and will be eligible to play in the league this season.
- The rule has changed for games being abandoned without a ball being bowled and only 5 points will be awarded to both teams (down from 10)
- An amendment to the laws regarding rain affected games and the target totals set, bring your calculators, we’re edging closer to Duckworth Lewis!
- MK Air turned up to their first AGM since they joined he league!
- Fixtures should be released within the next 2-3 weeks.
So nothing earth shattering, the 5 points awarded for abandoned games seemed pretty sensible after last year, with a number of sides avoiding relegation when they played fewer games than teams who made the effort to play.
Will let you know as soon as we see the fixtures!
